Multi-ring orbits around a point of interest with an optional nadir top cap – radius, number of rings, photos per ring and gimbal pitch are calculated from the object’s size and your overlap.
What MavicMapper plans for you
- Auto geometry: enter object height and diameter; MavicMapper picks standoff, rings, photos per ring and gimbal pitch for the overlap you want.
- Top cap: an optional nadir grid over the roof closes the 3D model.
- Capture: stop & shoot, or continuous fly-through capture for bright light – the drone curves through every photo point and shoots while passing.
- Curve speed cap: on continuous orbits the speed at each curved point is limited so sideways acceleration stays ≤ 2 m/s² and yaw ≤ 50 °/s.
- Tele lenses: use the 70 mm or 168 mm tele (Mavic 3 Pro / Mavic 4 Pro) for detail from a safe distance.

Can I plan poi orbit missions for DJI Fly for free?
Yes. MavicMapper is free, runs offline on Windows and exports DJI Fly waypoint missions (KMZ, WPML) for the Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Mini 4 Pro and Lito X1.
Which drones are supported?
DJI Mavic 3 Pro, Mavic 4 Pro, Mini 5 Pro, Mini 4 Pro and Lito X1 – all with native DJI Fly waypoint missions. The camera, speed, wind, gimbal and battery limits of the selected drone are used in every calculation.
How do I get the mission onto my controller?
Upload it over USB with one click (ADB or Windows MTP) to the DJI RC Pro, RC 2 or an Android phone – or import the KMZ by hand into a placeholder mission in DJI Fly.
